VERDICT
Chinese commuter bikes are gradually gaining significant popularity in Bangladesh due to their affordability and impressive mileage. Over time, perceptions about the reliability of Chinese products have evolved, leading people to embrace Chinese motorcycles for their exceptional value. The Zaara 100, a 100cc Chinese commuter bike, is imported and distributed by H Power, offering an attractive option in the landscape of all bike price in Bangladesh.
H Power has been engaged in various types of businesses since 1995. Since its inception, H Power has been trying to manufacture motorcycles with the newest technologies and highest efficiency. H Power mostly works in the assembly of motorcycles, which they import as CKD units and then assemble here in Bangladesh. The H Power Max Z is also a Chinese motorcycle that is imported by H Power.
H Power Motor generally sources its motorcycles and scooters from various vendors and companies in China. Hence, they rebrand their sourced models under their brand name H Power. Further few models of motorcycles were kept with original brand names. Hence all of their marketed models are commonly known as H Power motorcycles. The Zaara 100 is also a Chinese motorcycle that is imported by H Power.
Key Features
The Zaara 100 is available in two appealing colors, Red and Black, both featuring a glossy finish. Each of these colors is complemented by sporty and unique decals, adding a touch of style to make the bike stand out among the best 100cc bikes in Bangladesh.
The Zaara 100 is equipped with a basic lighting system. It features a halogen headlight suitable for city commuting but not the best choice for highway use. The taillight, also halogen, provides adequate brightness to be noticeable, and the indicators are fitted with halogen bulbs as well. In terms of design, the lights give off a dated vibe reminiscent of bikes from the late 90s.
When it comes to the instrument cluster, the Zaara 100 offers a highly informative setup. This cluster includes a speedometer, odometer, trip meter, RPM counter, fuel gauge, digital gear position indicator, and other essential indicators. However, most of the instrument cluster is analog, which, while appealing to some, may not be the most user-friendly for quick, at-a-glance readings.
The Zaara 100 boasts a modern commuter design that leans towards practicality rather than sportiness. It doesn't shout "sportbike" but rather conveys a sense of sensibility in its aesthetics. Its compact design facilitates easy maneuvering through heavy traffic, and it comes equipped with a standard luggage rack, making it convenient for passengers to hold on securely or transport larger loads with ease.
Physical Attributes
The Zaara 100 has an average height of 780mm, which is suitable for most people shorter than 5’8”. People above that height might have difficulty while sitting. Regardless of the short seat height, the bike has a very good ground clearance of 200mm. The bike also has a large fuel tank of 12 liters, which will be extremely helpful during long rides out of town.
The length, width, height, and weight of the Zaara 100 are 1970mm, 780mm, 1050mm, and 105 kg. As you can see, the bike is on the lighter side. The weight will not cause fatigue to the rider in heavy traffic. The bike is very compact, as it is quite thin, but it has an average wheelbase of 1265mm, which is not very suitable for high-speed cornering.
Engine and Transmission
The Zaara 100 has a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, and 98.4cc engine. It is carbureted and air-cooled. The Zaara 100 has been down-tuned to make the power more commuter-friendly. The engine produces 6.03BHP of power at 7500rpm and 7.5NM of torque at 5500rpm. This down-tune will improve the efficiency of the bike. The bike has a mileage of around 60kmpl.
The Zaara 100 comes with a basic wet multi-plate clutch system. The bike also comes with a 5-speed gearbox. The top speed of the Zaara 100 is expected to be around 100 kmph.
Brakes, Suspensions, and Wheels
The Zaara 100 comes with a full drum braking system. The front wheel gets a drum brake, which is good enough for emergency braking in this bike, but it isn’t the best or the safest option. A disc brake at the front would have done more just to this bike. The rear is also a drum, which is okay for this bike.
The suspension of the bike is a whole new chapter. The front gets telescopic forks as the suspension and the rear gets twin spring-loaded suspension. The front suspension is expected to perform well at corners and across bumps. The rear is also expected to give good support across bumps with a pillion.
The Zaara 100 gets a new wheel setup. The rear wheel of the bike now has a 3.00/17-section rear tire. The rear tire is a bit disappointing as a 3.25 or 3.5-section tire would have been the most suitable for a bike of this segment. The bike also has a 2.75-section front tire, which may not be the best but is acceptable for this bike.
Target Audience
The Zaara 100 was made for the regular commuter. This bike is not made for touring or long rides, rather it is made for short rides inside the town with or without a pillion. This bike will be desired by people who are looking for a bike only for the sole purpose of commuting.
It also is targeted to the young customers of scooters or city commuters who are looking for a simple bike for moving around and about in the city. Basically, students, small jobholders, and small businessmen are the main customers of this bike.
The Zaara 100 can be regarded as a meticulously designed motorcycle with an affordable bike price in BD. Bangladesh should welcome more motorcycles in this category, fostering recognition among the riders. This bike, the Zaara 100, is exclusively crafted for commuting, offering practicality at an attractive price in BD.
