Yamaha M Slaz In Bangladesh: First Ride Impression
M Slaz is powered by a 150cc cooled engine which has a 6 speed gear box. The bike’s engine is exact same of Yamaha R15 V2.0 but the performance figure is tune down. The engine delivers 16.1 BHP & 14.3 NM TORQUE ( 16.8 BHP & 15 NM for R15 V2.0).The bike is a class of its own. It weighs only 135 kg which is very good in the heavy traffic of Bangladesh. There is ample amount of front end grip in the bike, the headlight & the styling gives a wonderful looks to the bike.

These are some of the striking features of the bike:
- Front inverse shock up which is 37mm upside down, the forks are telescopic.
- The headlight and tail lights are LED, the light intensity is very good.
- The tyres are IRC which has some of the best grip in the world & the front tyres are 110, & rears are 130, in R15V2 the front tyres are 90.
- The ignition key is in front of the fuel .
- There is no rear mud guard with the bike, which is a bad thing as the rear tyre stretch out from the rear seat.
- The seating position is not aggressive but good for long distance travel.
- The indicators are bulb type.
- It has MT Ignition switch seen in Yamaha MT07 & MT09.
- An LED backlit full-negative LCD instrument panel.
- Monoshock-equipped multi-link rear suspension.
FIRST RIDE IMPRESSION:
HEAVEN on EARTH! In the past I rode Yamaha R15 V2 and despite its charismatic style & beautiful design I think the bike’s seating positing isn’t the best neither is the comfort for the pillion, on the other hand Honda CBR 150R doesn’t make you feel ‘special’ despite it’s having an wonderful engine. Yamaha M Slaz is a complete different machine altogether, it is awesome to ride with, the smoothness & the awesome finishing of Yamaha Thailand is next to nothing.

Yes the height of the bike is too high for people like me, the horn switch is a bit far away, the foot peg is a bit sporty & the pillion seat is as small as that of 2008 Yamaha FZS but the rest of it is absolutely exquisite. Throttle response is awesome, braking is a big hard as the bike was just 5 km old but it will get better in time but the best thing about the bike is the front end.110 front section tyre, grip, size & the compound state that this bike was created to eats up all the corners. The upside down front suspension is made for riding on anywhere on this planet & because this is not a sporty bike you can be hard on it. The brakes are good too; the clutch response is as good as Yamaha can give you.The bike’s speedometer is full negative LED, with two trip meters, speedometer, rev counter, fuel gauge and best of all a clock. The fuel is a bit small I think. Seating position is good and improvement from that of R15 V2. You might think that it is naked and so it won’t cheat air but you will be wrong, the bike has some aerodynamics properties with air scoop on the side of the fuel to allow the air pass though the engine to keep it cool.Am not a stunt rider but I think this could be a very good stunt bike as well, I be honest with you I still trying hard to find any problem with the bike but with the exception of not having a rear tyre mud guard and the rear seat is way too small I think with all things consider given bike is only practical for solo rides I still think this is the BEST BIKE IN BANGLADESH now!Just to give you an impression how joyful and pleasure it was to ride a Yamaha M Slaz, just look at the picture below which was taken from Nilachol in Bandarban, how do you feel about the natural beauty of the place? yes that’s how good the bike really is, if you know what I mean!
