The foundation history of Michelin, therefore, Compagnie Générale des Établissements Michelin SCA (full name) is tracked in 1889 when Édouard Michelin and André Michelin, two brothers started to run a farmstead and business in Clermont-Ferrand, France. That time incidentally they repaired a cyclist bicycle’s pneumatic tire and found some faulty characteristics of the glued pneumatic tires. Then Michelin Tire Company was incorporated on 28 May 1889. The first production of Michelin brothers’ tires wasn't glued to the rim rather it was the easily removable and detachable type. Accordingly, in 1891 Michelin registered its first patent for a removable pneumatic tire.
