Last updated on 20-Jan-2025 , By Badhon Roy
Scooters are generally very popular for commuting in the city. Many men and women use scooters for their lightweight, short wheelbase, storage space, and practicality. Recently, Hero MotoCorp launched its new scooter- the Hero Xoom 125 in India. Since its launch, the scooter has been the subject of much discussion and comparison with other scooters in the segment internationally. Let’s take a look at the details of this new scooter.
Hero Xoom 125 – Design
The scooter’s design is kept simple and its shape and front end are inspired by a falcon. This gives the scooter a beautiful road presence despite its simple design, making it visually appealing. The headlight design is somewhat similar to the headlight design of the Hero Karizma XMR 200, which is quite attractive. The placement of the scooter’s front indicators is on the handlebar. The split LED tail lamp at the rear also draws attention, and the positioning of the fuel tank at the back allows riders to refuel without having to remove the seat.
Hero Xoom 125 – Engine Specifications
Looking at the specifications, the scooter features a BS VI-compliant, air-cooled, single-cylinder, 124.6cc, 4-stroke fuel-injected (FI) engine that produces a maximum of 9.8 horsepower at 7,250 RPM and 10.4 Nm of torque at 6,000 RPM. With a CVT transmission and dry centrifugal clutch, like conventional scooters, no gear shifting is required. The scooter can provide smooth and quick responses as soon as the accelerator is revved. The top speed of the scooter could range between 85-95 km/h.
Hero Xoom 125 – Features
Seat Height, Weight, and Ground Clearance- The scooter features a seat height of 777 mm and a ground clearance of 164 mm. With a curb weight of 121 kg the scooter is very easy to control.
Ignition System- Self-electric ignition.
New Digital Instrument Cluster- The fully digital instrument cluster is quite stylish and displays multiple pieces of information. It includes fuel level, multiple trip meters, a speedometer, a service indicator, turn-by-turn navigation, a side stand indicator, an engine check indicator, etc.
LED Headlamp- The scooter’s DRLs and headlamp are both aggressive and practical, capable of providing good light output.
Sequential LED Indicators- The scooter’s LED indicators blink sequentially, which looks very premium.
Tubeless Tires- The scooter features tubeless tires sized 110/80-14 at the front and 120/70-14 at the rear. The MRF-brand tubeless tires reduce the risk of punctures or leaks and offer better performance.
Brakes- The scooter is equipped with a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. However, it is still unknown whether CBS or any other advanced braking system has been used.
Suspension System- The scooter features telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers at the front and a multi-adjustable single-side mono-shock absorber at the rear, which makes riding comfortable.
Mileage- With a total fuel capacity of 5 liters, the scooter can deliver around 55 km of mileage per liter of fuel. Mileage may vary depending on fuel quality and riding style.
This was a quick look at the Hero Xoom 125. After analyzing the specifications, it can be concluded that this scooter can compete well with other currently available scooters in the 125cc commuting scooter segment. We are hopeful that the scooter will arrive in Bangladesh soon, and as always, Hero Bangladesh will ensure a reasonable price, spare parts availability, and the best service, making it a favorite among bikers.
