The largest camping event for bikers, "Bikers Mega Camping Fest Season 09," was recently held at Lalmai Lakeland in Cumilla. The most significant attraction of this grand event, organized by Furious Moto Club Cumilla, was the Furious Track Trail (FTT) Off-Road Racing Championship.

Furious Track Trail (FTT) – Season 02

The Furious Track Trail (FTT) track, designed in the style of international motocross events and bearing the slogan “Not on the road, come to the track” was as exciting as it was adventurous. The competition was held in two segments: road bikes and dirt bikes. After an initial selection phase, more than 25 bikers qualified for the finals of this two-day event.

The 925-meter-long track was prepared over several days under the supervision of Furious Moto Club Cumilla, BikeBD, Road Riderz (RRz) and prominent off-road enthusiasts. The track was reviewed and tested extensively to ensure its suitability. The track consisted of 11 tight turns and 10 major obstacles.

At first, after two small turns, there was a straight section leading to the third turn. After the fourth turn, a slope began, and after the fifth turn, there was a large pit filled with sand. The sixth turn featured an uphill section covered in sand, presenting a significant challenge. Before the seventh turn, obstacles like bamboo, tree trunks, and small trenches were added.

Just after the seventh turn was a trench that was looking simple but proved to be the most complex obstacle to navigate. Most of the bikers crashed at this point which they marked as Ponit-6 by the presence of 6th set of track marshals. However, those who approached it intelligently and jumped and drifted cautiously managed to pass successfully.

The eighth and ninth turns contained grass and bamboo obstacles. The tenth turn was particularly exciting, requiring bikers to zigzag within a specific area. This zigzag section, which included uphill and downhill paths, pits, and bamboo barriers were incredibly thrilling.

The final and eleventh turn ended with a steep uphill making it the most challenging part of the track. Without support, it was nearly impossible to complete. At the edge of this hill lay the finish line of this exciting track. In short, completing this track required not speed but practical thinking and technical riding skills.

However, the use of helmet and necessary safety guards was mandatory for this race. There were minor incidents occurred on the track but no major damages or accidents. A trained and dedicated volunteer team from Furious Moto Club Cumilla, Road Riderz (RRz), and BikeBD remained on track for the whole time and provide constant support to the racers including first aid and other necessary assistance.

Furious Track Trail (FTT) – Season 02 Result

As a true fun factor, two REVOO-branded electric vehicles (EVs) models also participated in this thrilling track trail and successfully completed the course. However, Khan Hasan became the champion in the road bike category by completing the track in 2 minutes and 22 seconds. The first runner-up was Bablu Ahmed Babu, whose timing was 2 minutes and 28 seconds. Shahriar Jahan Turjo became the second runner-up with a time of 2 minutes and 31 seconds.

The results were determined in the dirt bike category based on the average timing of three laps. Abu Saeed, one of Bangladesh’s top and most popular off-road racers known as “Jinn er Badsha” became the champion with an average timing of 145.6 seconds. The first runner-up was Baundule Bulbul, who completed the track in 171.6 seconds. The second runner-up was popular content creator Ashraf Uddin Rahat, widely known as “The Outsider,” with a timing of 175.6 seconds.

The first prize for each category was BDT 30,000, the second prize was BDT 20,000, and the third prize was BDT 10,000 with a pair of Apollo tyres as a courtesy.

This year, many new bikers participated in the track trail and was thankful to the organizers for arranging such an event. They also encouraged ordinary bikers to avoid the mentality of racing on public roads and to participate in such racing events instead.

We are optimistic that more thrilling track racing events like this will be organized in the future, becoming increasingly popular among bikers. Perhaps from these events, we will see some of the best riders representing Bangladesh in international motocross competitions—a day that might not be too far away.
